Did you know that there are some things that you can do that will reduce your grooming bill? |

| Don't walk through a quagmire before you get to the groomers! |
Bathing a dog in its full coat uses (a lot) more shampoo and more conditioner! It takes longer to work the shampoo in and longer to rinse it out, using more water and more electricity. |
Drying a dog in full coat can take twice as long as drying the dog that's been clipped first. The longer it takes to do your dog, the higher the bill is likely to be. |
| Groom your dog at home | A matt, knot or tangle the size of a 50p piece can take 2 minutes to unpick... We factor in the price that each dog will have one or two small matts. More than that and you'll bump up the bill. |
Groom your dog regularly at home; right down to the skin, so your groomer doesn't have to spend extra time dematting your dog. |
| Parasites | TICKS: Yes, you can still bring your dog to the salon and we're happy to take ticks out wherever and whenever we can. We'll even show you how to do this if you don't know already. |
FLEAS: If we find fleas in the pre-bath clip or brush-out we have no option but to abandon that phase and jump straight into bathing your dog in its full coat. The extra shampoo, conditioner and drying time will bump up your bill. |
| Behaviour and Manners | Train your dog! Practise grooming on a table at home. Take your dog to training classes and ask your instructor to help you. ASK the groomer if there is anything your dog could be trained to do to make the grooming process easier. Even if the answer is no, the groomer will be hugely flattered/touched that you care! |
If your groomer has touble keeping your dog standing still on the table, or has to take extra care just so she won't get bitten, or she has to hire an extra pair of hands to pin your dog down to get any kind of grooming equipment near it you can expect to see a higher bill when you collect the dog! |
| Regular Maintenance | "Once-A-Year-Grooms" will always be more expensive than Regular-Clients. |
Centre Stage Dog Grooming offers free interim-nail appointments to regular clients. Many dogs need their nails attended to more frequently than they need their coats attended to. If your dog fits this bill, why not ask your groomer if they will offer the same service? |
